Paglesham Church Gallery

South side of Paglesham Church
The East Window above the altar.
The font.
The single remaining bell is still in use, but the ringers don't pull too hard - just in case!
The bell frames have become the roosts of pigeons. There is no sign of any bats here, although they can be seen flying around the village on summer evenings.
Below the bell room, the oak beams supporting the bell frame can be seen.
The first-floor tower room stands empty except for a deep carpet of droppings and the corpses of birds. The boards are not safe to walk on.
The stairs in the stone turret are strewn with droppings and dead pigeons. Climbing them is a noisesome and  unhealthy venture.
The church yard is surrounded by an old brick wall, and in the SW corner are these steps to what is presumably a mounting block (for getting on horses in a ladylike fashion!).
