Trophies and Prizes
Please return all cups to the committee by1st August.
- The BOARDMAN championship cup will be awarded for PRODUCE, FLOWERS & FRUIT.
- The DAVEY & ARMITAGE championship cup will be awarded for PRESERVES & COOKERY.
- The JIM THOROGOOD championship trophy will be awarded to the exhibitor gaining the highest total points in the show.
- The DAVID GRIEW CUP will be awarded to the exhibitor gaining the highest points with a minimum entry of eight classes and who has not previously won a PVPA cup.
- The CYRIL JOHNSON PLAQUE will be awarded to the exhibitor of the best bloom in the show.
- The ROY BROWN CUP will be awarded for the maximum points gained by an associate member.
- The FRANCES GRIEW CUP for Art will be awarded to the exhibitor with maximum points in classes
127 to 131.
- The DICK THOROGOOD CUP will be awarded for the best tomato exhibit.
- The DOT BARDELL CUP a new award this year will be awarded for the best single exhibit in the floral art section.
- The VIN WOOD CUP is awarded for the best vegetable collection.
- The ETHEL DUCKER CUP is awarded for the highest total points in the novice
sections.
- The GORDON WARREN TROPHY is awarded for the best entry in the interpretive
floral art and handicrafts classes.
- The PUZEY CUP is awarded to the exhibitor gaining the highest number of
points in, at most, five classes in the Presidents Pentathlon.
- The DAPHNE WOOD CUP is awarded for the best minature floral art exhibit.
- The PVPA SHIELD is awarded for the best overall exhibit in the cookery and
preserves section.
- The LINTOTT CUP for the "Best Kept Garden" will be presented at the Show.
- A replica cup will be presented by the PVPA to the winner of any one championship cup for three consecutive years.
- Worshipful Company of Gardeners' Diplomas and Certificates of Floral Art will be awarded by the judges.
Children's Sections
- The TED THOROGOOD CUP will be awarded for the best vegetable exhibit in the children's classes.
- The JASON CARDY CUP is awarded for the best vegetable exhibit in the
children's classes.
- The GEORGE YOUNG CUP is awarded for the highest total points in Section I
- The DAVIS CUP is awarded for the highest total points in Section II
- The KEN KYDD CUP is awarded for the highest total points in Section III
- PVPA SHIELDs are awarded for the highest total points in Sections IV and
V, and to runners up in all sections.
Competition for all classes is open to all PVPA members.
A Replica Cup is presented by the PVPA to the winner of any one championship cup
for three consecutive years.
Certificates of Merit for horticulture and floral art are awarded by the judges.
